Ingredients
  

For the Batter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples
For Frying
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the diced apples.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  3. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  4. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve warm for the best texture. Pair with coffee or apple cider, and consider adding a dipping sauce for more flavor.
