Ingredients

  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus, chopped
  • 1 bag frozen peas (or fresh, ideally!)
  • 2 tbs. butter
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 1 tbs. honey

Method

Cooking
  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the minced shallot and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring until softened and fragrant.
  2. Add the chopped asparagus and cook, stirring occasionally, until the pieces are cooked through and slightly golden on the outside.
  3. Add the peas and saute for a few minutes until they are cooked.
  4. Stir in the honey until evenly combined with the vegetables.
  5. Serve the asparagus pea saute as a finished vegetable side.

Notes

Cook the asparagus until tender while keeping some texture, and add the peas later so they remain distinct.
