Cake Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the egg, oil, vanilla, sugar, milk, and salt. Whisk until fully blended.
- Add the baking powder and flour to the mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
Streusel Preparation
- In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, flour, and chopped walnuts until crumbly.
Assembly and Baking
- Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the streusel mixture over the top of the cake batter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Optional Icing
- If using, whisk together powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cake before serving.
