Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour Provides structure
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar Adds subtle sweetness
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder Creates light, airy texture
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt Enhances overall flavor
Wet Ingredients
  • 2 large Eggs Provides richness and binding
  • 1 3/4 cups Warm milk Delivers moisture and tenderness
  • 1/2 cup Melted unsalted butter Brings depth and smoothness
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Introduces delicate aromatic notes
Additional Ingredient
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch Creates crispy texture

Method

Preparation
  1. Prepare your dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cornstarch.
  2. Mix wet ingredients separately: In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, warm milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients: Gently mix the wet and dry ingredients together until just combined. A few lumps are okay.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Grease the waffle iron with non-stick spray.
  3. Pour the batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.

Notes

Try different toppings like fresh fruits, chocolate shavings, or maple syrup to customize your waffles. Allow the batter to rest for 10-20 minutes for fluffier waffles.
