Ingredients
  

Brownie Base
  • 1 box brownie mix (usually 16-18 ounces)
  • 6 tablespoons butter Melted
Chocolate Frosting
  • 1/3 cup milk Whole milk preferred
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Add chips off heat

Method
 

Baking the Brownies
  1. Bake the brownies according to package directions in a 9x13 pan or slightly smaller rectangular pan.
  2. Let them cool for an hour before frosting.
Making the Frosting
  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt; bring to a consistent boil over medium heat and cook for 45 seconds.
  3. Turn off the heat and add chocolate chips, stirring to combine.
Frosting the Brownies
  1. Working quickly, pour the frosting over the brownies and spread evenly.
  2. Add sprinkles immediately as the frosting starts to set.
  3. Let the frosting rest for 15-30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For best texture, serve at room temperature. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
