  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup sour cream Warm slightly before mixing
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or your choice
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup Can substitute with cream of chicken
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil For sautéing

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the egg noodles according to package directions; drain.
  3. In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté until soft.
  4. Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
  5. In a large bowl, mix sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, and half of the cheese.
  6. Combine the cooked noodles and beef mixture with the sour cream mixture.
Baking
  1. Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until heated through and cheese is bubbly.

Notes

Serve with a simple green salad and consider garnishing with chopped parsley or green onions. For drinks, opt for a light-bodied red wine or iced tea.
