Preparation
- In a large pot, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the pasta and enough water or broth to cover it; bring to a boil.
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
Finishing
- Reduce heat to low and stir in milk and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Stir until creamy and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with extra grated Parmesan and a grind of black pepper.
Notes
Cool leftovers to room temperature within two hours and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. Add a splash of milk when reheating to restore creaminess.
